| Bastian hits jackpot !!! |
Here is an update of an very successful overnighter of last friday for Bastian Reetz: "As every year I fall totally in love with my fishing in spring. The longer days, the warm weather and the bursting nature full of new green leaves and flowers. Every minute is now spent outside and there is one good aspect on being a teacher: You can look through all the tests when the rods are out. And that´s what I did on last friday and the conditions were really good: Two fish jumped while I arrived at the lake and the wind changed to a south-westerly breeze with some light rain from time to time. And that´s the weather when I get excited every year in may because the big girls now start to feed again a little bit before spawning. And there was one special fish in my mind - a big common. A fish almost all of my friends had already landed! Even on my rods two times, as we changed the rods over to each other after every successful landing. And in this short session of 18 hours everything came together: After a few hours the first mirror of midtwenties took the pineapple-crustacean-snowman. And in the early morning hours I got a real belter - a spuper fast screaming run! And what should I say - new record of that water with a known fat mirror for me (I caught the fish called "the ball" of obvious reasons two times before) with 22,9kg. What a start into the season but one thing was missing - the big common. And it went perfect... While I rebaited my good old favourite - the C4 hook in size 6 with a new homerolled DD Bait Pineapple-Crustacean-Snowman the other rod in the shallows showed a slow take. I thought it was a smaller fish with a lot of weed around it, but it wasn´t. It was the common - my main target for 2010 with 19,5kg in perfect condition. Again the T Carp rods in 3Ib did the trick to reach the long distance but playing the soft mouthed fish very sensitive. Truly a spring day I will not forget! Cheers and get out there, Bastian" Keep the reports and pictures coming. We can't get enough!!! info@prologicfishing.com
